The Machines Are Coming For The Young Turks

By Tim Smith

Autonomous cars are coming. That much (pending some kind of disaster, which may or may not be perpetrated by The Machines themselves) now seems certain.

Interestingly, the main hurdles between you and sleeping off a huge hang-over on the way back from the Big Smoke would seem to both ethical and legal in nature.

The Young Turks (no, not the early 20th century nationalist, monarchist movement based in Turkey) have attempted to touch on this.

It is clearly a very large subject, and this video acts as the very tip of the West Indies to what is going to happen over the coming years.

Oh, and they get carried away with rise of The Machines japes. Because of course they do.

Steve Sutcliffe Loves The New Cayman GTS. Yes. He. Does.

By Tim Smith

I love driving. You love driving. It’s why you’re here.

I think I love driving more than almost anything else. Except the obvious, of course. That’s like like comparing, well, the obvious with driving. They’re just different, but I love them both very much.

Steven ‘Steve’ Stutcliffe likes the Cayman GTS very much, thank you very much. I think he likes it more than anything else. And you know what? I’m just well jel.

Dream Boating With Meaden and Sutcliffe In A Ferrari Is The Actual Best

By Tim Smith

Last night as I closed my eye shutters and drifted off to the ol’ dreamland (where stuff happens in public with no pants on and that TVR I thought I was driving had turned into a bike and I’m somehow lost in a garden centre) something of the YouTube vids I’d watched must have lodged in the ol’ mind grapes because I dreamed that wheel/pen smiths Sutcliffe and Meaden were having dinner with me.
It was Meaden’s birthday and we were all out in Clifton sipping wine and exchanging anecdotes. We had a capital time.
I told ’em all about how I had trouble telling the difference between them when I first discovered Autocar and Evo had YouTube channels. They took it well.
Anyway.
The real reason we’re here is to put three Ferrari The Ferrari videos in one place.
First up is Top Gear Magazine’s. It’s a tease, this one . All noise and zooming about.

Next up is Sutcliffe. He does get rather excited:

Last is Meaden. If anything, he seems a little underwhelmed. Perhaps he’s just had some bad news or something. Either way, one of the most interesting things about the video is that you can actually watch him learn the limits of the car. As the video moves on you can watch him hold onto the gears longer, squeeze the big Ferrari a bit harder. Coupled with his dry delivery it makes for an interesting contrast:

Now, I believe that’s all of today’s Ferrari taken care of.

Hyundai ‘Accidently’ Remake Freaky Friday

By Tim Smith

A few years ago anything Hyundai or Kia made was a great opportunity to get the ol’ pen/sword out and write a character assassination (blimey, didn’t know there were so many s’ in there) against an inanimate object. Doing this sort of thing is always fun as Anton Ego will attest. Things have changed, though, Kia and Hyundai have come a loooong way. As a Hyundai ix35 drove past me the other day, I thought to myself:

‘…press the button, oh nice, double yellows and bad parking I’ve always wanted a 635i but their just too, remember that girl, she had polkadots, and pizza, yeah that place was rubbish, liked the manager though, cross, oop, gotta run, do these trainers make me bounce, oh and what are those things called? look at the back always look like a geek doing this, ix35, actually alright…’

Or something along those lines.

Either way, far from actually highlighting this change around, Hyundai appears to have gone with what appears to be a jaunty look on mental illness, wait, let’s be kind….

A sixty-year-old in a yellow dress and a young woman's body

A sixty-year-old in a yellow dress and a young woman’s body

Hyundai appear to have remade Freaky Friday, except this time instead of a mother-daughter swap the first advert supposes what would happen if you put a sixty-year-old lech inside of a young woman’s body (clue, he/she does actually leave the house).

The second proposes a swap between a socially awkward teenaged boy and his possibly bullying father (which may or may not be why the boy/dad is so socially awkward).

This Citroen BX ‘Tribute’ Keeps Making Me Laugh

2632_74184917465_3578823_n

By Tim Smith

I have no idea what just happened in the last four and a bit minutes so I’ve decided to share my ‘experience’.

At the 2:08 mark it actually looks like this a BX is humping the road. Also, the soundtrack.

Enjoy:

Boat On Boat Action (NSFW)

2632_74184917465_3578823_n

By Tim Smith

You may already have seen this vid. It’s certainly had enough views. If you have, you’ll know that a wordy introduction simply isn’t going to cover it.

So, I’ll quit my jibber-jabber and hand over to Youtube:
